Visit By The Ministry of Natural Resources And Environmental Sustainability (NRES) to the BSF Fertilizer Production Facility in Ansip, Keningau
Hermetia Illucens Sdn. Bhd. was honoured to welcome representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Datuk Nor Yahati Binti Awang (Deputy Secretary General - Environmental Sustainability) and other staff members, to our BSF fertilizer production facility in Ansip, Keningau, Sabah.

Visit from the Owner of Queen Hotel Keningau
We were honoured to welcome Mr. Koh Tze Hou, owner of Queen Hotel Keningau, to our BSF facility. Mr. Koh plans to use our BSF organic fertilizer on his durian farm, and during the visit he tried feeding organic waste to our BSF larvae himself.

994 Cartons Collected from Harrisons Sabah Sdn. Bhd.
Our team collected 994 cartons of expired bread and croissants from Harrisons Sabah Sdn. Bhd. and brought them to our BSF facility to feed our larvae.

SLDB Visits to Research Black Soldier Fly as Chicken Feed
A team from the Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) came back to our farm to look into Black Soldier Fly larvae as feed for chickens, from the breeding cages to the larvae trays and our own free-range flock.

99 Speedmart's Beaufort branch sent us 1,140 kg of expired and damaged goods to be recycled into feed for our Black Soldier Fly larvae, extending our collaboration to a new location.

Meeting with DOE on an Upcoming Collaboration
We met with DOE to plan a two-day collaboration event on 23 and 24 October 2026 — an Eco Chef competition, tree planting, a fun run, and a VIP visit to our larvae farm.

From Live Stream to Larvae Feed
Durian season is here, and we are collecting empty durian shells to feed our Black Soldier Fly larvae. Our collaborator De Green Farm is running durian sales events with live streams, and the shells from every session are sent to HIBSF instead of landfill.

13 Tonnes of Organic Waste Received from Our Partners
A combined 13 metric tonnes of organic waste arrived from 99 Speedmart, Moh Heng Company Sdn Bhd and Lo Siew Lin Sdn Bhd, to be recycled by our Black Soldier Fly larvae.

Harrisons Sabah Sdn Bhd, part of Harrisons Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad, sent us 4 metric tonnes of organic waste to be recycled into feed for our Black Soldier Fly larvae.

We joined the Tutty Fruity 1.0 Fun Run 6KM & Agro Tani & Food Carnival at the SLDB West Region Office in Keningau to promote our BSF larvae frass organic fertiliser, and welcomed the SLDB General Manager and the Sabah Director of Agriculture to our booth.

Our first collection with Moh Heng Company Sdn Bhd — pallets of surplus snacks, canned goods, cereals, instant noodles, and dry pasta diverted from landfill and turned into feed for our Black Soldier Fly larvae.

Giving Expired Goods a Second Chance — Our CSR Partnership with 99 Speedmart
We are proud to join hands with 99 Speedmart, in a corporate social responsibility partnership built around food waste. Instead of sending their expired and damaged goods to landfill, 99 Speedmart entrusts them to us, where our Black Soldier Fly larvae upcycle them into protein-rich biomass and nutrient-rich organic fertiliser — giving these goods a second chance and keeping them out of the waste stream.
